Apuesta Responsable: Materiales Reciclados

Jimmy Lion Swimwear has entered the chat. Discover our first ever range of women’s bikinis, one-piece swimsuits and men’s swim shorts made with recycled materials. To bring our debut line of swimwear to life, we knew two things:

1. Each design had to breathe summer AND our trademark creativity.

2. We wanted to strike the perfect balance between more responsible materials and the highest quality.

Enter recycled materials.

Recycled Polyester and Recycled Nylon

In order to help reduce the harmful impact of textile production on both people and the environment, we’ve opted to include a higher percentage of recycled content in our original designs. For our Jimmy Lion Swimwear Collection we have chosen recycled pre-consumer polyamide (commonly known as recycled nylon) and post-consumer recycled polyester for both their positive advantages and durability.

Pre-consumer recycled nylon and post-consumer polyester are as durable as their virgin counterparts. As if that weren’t enough, their use also helps to divert textile waste, both pre- and post-consumer, away from landfills. Both recycled materials are also tested to guarantee they’re safe for consumers throughout production.

Our Recycled Swimwear

Our men’s swim shorts, which come in 21 unique designs, have a 100% recycled post-consumer polyester exterior. Soft to the touch, each pair is quick-drying and made to last. Our women’s bikinis and one-piece swimsuits on the other hand include a 25% recycled pre-consumer nylon shell and an 86% recycled post-consumer polyester lining.

Made to move with you on all of your summer adventures, this collection was designed with you and our real-world impact in mind.

Thanks socks much for reading!

THE CREATIVE CORNER: JOÃO INCERTI

THE CREATIVE CORNER: JOÃO INCERTI

He grew up without neighbors in the Brazilian countryside. Now his art colors cities around the world.Artist João Incerti was raised on a farm in Teresópolis, deep in the Brazilian countryside, far from galleries, far from screens, far from anything that looked like the art world. What he had instead was nature, silence, and an instinct for drawing that never left him. That foundation, raw, organic, deeply felt, still powers everything he makes.Today his murals cover entire walls across cities, his paintings sell to collectors worldwide, and his work carries titles like The Dive, The Trust, The Restart — small philosophical statements disguised as art. Joyful, spiritual, tropical, mystic: those are the words other people use to describe it. João, funnily enough, refrains from describing his own work, so he just agrees and keeps painting. At Jimmy Lion, we've always believed that personality lives in the details — a sock, a print, a flash of color that stops you in your tracks. When we discovered João's work, something clicked immediately: here was an artist who thinks about color the way we do, who believes that what you wear can carry real meaning. Two worlds, one frequency. The result is a collection of socks, tees and swimwear that began in Brazil and ends up coloring your day-to-day. We think that's a pretty incredible journey: from one person's creativity to thousands' worlds. So we sat down with the artist — to talk about where all of it comes from, and to see Rio through his eyes.Your work gets described as joyful, spiritual, tropical, mystic — but you say you don't really know how to describe it yourself. Do those words land, or do you tune them out and just paint?People have different interpretations about my work, I just accept all of them. My aesthetic is in constant mutation so I try to not define it and just take each painting as a singular piece that tells its own story. So I think I just turn them out and paint hahaha. You grew up on a farm in Teresópolis before moving to Rio de Janeiro. Two very different worlds. How did that contrast shape you?I think that contrast shaped me as a very curious guy that loves to try new things in my own way. Growing up on a farm I was by myself most of the time so I think that this made me somehow an authentic person since I didn’t have many references to look for… When I moved to the city I discovered a whole new world, a place where I could expand my creativity and express myself! But the experience I had living in nature is so strong. I'm so glad I grew up there, when I go back to the farm I feel so peaceful. You spent years designing prints for the fashion industry before going independent. What did it teach you — and what did it free you from?It taught me so much. Designing prints is amazing and I love it! It taught me everything about color combinations, visual appeal, symmetry, and commercial approach. More than that, working on fashion gave me the confidence to become an artist because before that I didn’t see myself that way. With time I started seeing my prints as pieces of art and only after that I started painting. Now as an independent artist I’m free from the commercial obligations, I can create for myself, expressing my own experiences in life! Working for a brand limits you to the brand’s universe and story, now I tell my own story. Your murals take over entire spaces. How do you approach that scale — and what does it feel like when a wall comes to life?I like to create immersive experiences with my murals, and for that I have to take over the whole space! It requires a lot of patience and confidence because during the progress sometimes it looks ugly, unfinished etc. I have to trust my vision, and it’s great when I finish and see it all come to life the way I imagined. It’s magical! In the collection Joao Incerti x Jimmy Lion, are recurring shapes as in your daily work, such as eyes, animals, organic forms. Do they carry meaning for you, or are they more instinctive?Everything has a meaning somehow. I’m obsessed with eyes, I keep putting them everywhere! I have a strong connection with felines in general, so there are a lot of cats and leopards in my paintings and we are using one for our collaboration! For our collection I wanted to make it look fun and joyful in a way that everyone can connect to it!  This collection spans socks, tees and swimwear. How do you translate art that usually lives on a canvas onto something people wear every day?I like to wear art, I love clothes with personality, with identity! And I also love fashion! So translating my art into textile is easy to me! You have to keep the bold effect, the colors, the joy, and still feel pretty wearing that! That’s what I try to do when I make collaborations, tell a story that resonates with me but also with other people, make them feel prettier and more confident. Color is at the heart of everything you do. Is choosing a palette instinct, emotion — or more method than it looks?A mix of all. There is a lot of methods of course, I study color theory and love all about that, but there is also instinct and personal taste. It varies from piece to piece! Of course I have my safe colors, the ones I have experienced already… Working on new color palettes is always challenging! Your paintings carry titles like The Dive, The Trust, The Restart — little universal truths. Where do those ideas come from?My ideas come from my own experiences in life, my personal life, thoughts about the struggles I’m going through. I started making art to really express myself to myself, then people started liking it.. But I’m very curious and excited with new things, so my ideas come from all different places. I'm always taking notes and sketching. Is there a color you keep coming back to, without really knowing why?Gold? ahahahaha I keep trying to stop using gold but I can’t… I just love it! I know it’s not a real color but it is to me. If your paintings had a soundtrack, what kind of music would we hear? Mention a song (love to add new stuff to our Jimmy Lion Playlist)“Fullgás” by Marina Lima! I love the vibe of that music, and every time it plays here in Rio everyone sings together, it’s so good! Speaking of "your Rio": what are your go-to spots for…? a swim, beach or mountain waterfall: Praia do Leme is my favorite but lately I’ve been going to Praia do Flamengo  art or a gallery that actually excites you: This new place Mercado Central have been really nice to see art, it’s a mix of gallery and creative space, they have restaurant, bars around, they make events on the street, it’s really cool! And there is this carioca artist called Iza Ananse that is my current art obsession, he is my friend and I love his art.  food that feels like home: Rice and beans with grilled chicken, french fries and farofa!! My favorite! We call it PF (Prato Feito) and you find it in most executive menus.  a walk when you need to think: Aterro do Flamengo! I just take a city bike and go! It’s amazing.  Viewpoint Aterro do Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro For music — live or otherwise: For live music sometimes I go to Cardosão bar, they play Jazz on Tuesdays. For dancing I go to Destilaria Maravilha or Bafo da Prainha! And for parties I’m always looking for the queer underground scene!! V de Viadão is a good one to look for, and they have other secondary smaller parties.  a wall worth stopping in front of: Maybe Santa Tereza can be nice for that!  Santa Tereza neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro the one place in Rio that still surprises you: Rio is a city that always surprises me, that’s why I love living in here! But there is this concert place called Circo Voador that has such amazing energy! All concerts there surprise me and it’s in the middle of Lapa! The sunset in Ipanema also surprises me every time!  And to finish: describe Jimmy Lion in three words:Bold, authentic and fun!  Thank you socks much for reading! Why Every Jimmy Lion Sock Is Built to Last

Why Every Jimmy Lion Sock Is Built to Last

There's a version of the sock industry that treats what goes on your feet as an afterthought. A commodity. Something to be produced quickly, slapped with a licensed image, and forgotten about the moment it hits the proverbial shelf. We've never been interested in that version. At Jimmy Lion, the sock is the whole point. Not a vehicle for someone else's logo. Not a filler gift. A curated, crafted statement — one where the design and the construction are equally deliberate, and one that just so happens to accompany your day-to-day. Here's what that actually means in practice. It Starts With the Cotton Do you know what your socks are made of? Most people don't — and most brands are happy to keep it that way.At Jimmy Lion, we start with premium-quality combed cotton. Unlike standard cotton, combed cotton goes through an additional refining process that removes shorter, coarser fibers and retains only the longest, smoothest strands. In practical terms: a noticeably softer feel against the skin, a cleaner surface for design reproduction, and a thread that holds both its shape and color significantly better over time. For many of our collections, we blend in organic cotton — grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. We're not reaching for it as a label. We reach for it because the right organic cotton blend gives us the equilibrium we're looking for between long-term durability and design integrity. A sock that looks as good on its hundredth wash as it did on its first isn't just a story of durability — it's a story of sustainability. Longevity is one of the most underrated dimensions of responsible design, and the materials we choose reflect that.Softer. More durable. The most conscious design is the one that lasts. And it all starts with the first threads. The Design Is Original. Always. There's a question worth asking of any brand that leads with design: Where does it actually come from?At Jimmy Lion, the answer is straightforward: it starts with people. Our designs are created in-house by a small team of talented designers who think in yarn, not pixels. Our team understands that a composition built to wrap a foot is a different problem than one built to fill a frame, and who make hundreds of small decisions: color, scale, placement, and stitch to get it right. When we collaborate – whether with the estate of a 20th century icon, an emerging illustrator, or with a creative partner whose work we've long admired – those same people are in the room. The process is close, iterative, and guided by genuine respect for the source material. The goal is never to borrow someone else's credibility. It's to create something neither of us could have made alone, translated faithfully into textile form by hands that know the difference. We don't license generic artwork. We don't pull from stock. Every pattern, every character, every composition that ends up on a Jimmy Lion sock started as a deliberate creative decision and was brought to life by real people who care about the outcome. The result is a catalog that stands as its own body of work — varied in reference and style, but consistent in standard. Made Where the Craft Is: Portugal and Italy We don't manufacture in one place. We manufacture with the right partners — and that standard has led us, more often than not, to two of the textile heartlands of Europe: Portugal and Italy.Portugal has been one of Europe's most respected textile manufacturing countries for decades. Its mills are known for their mastery of fine-gauge knitting, their ability to work with premium yarn, and a production culture where craft and consistency are non-negotiable. Working with Portuguese partners means shorter feedback loops, higher base standards, and a shared language around quality that simply isn't possible when production is chosen on price alone.Italy brings a different heritage — one rooted in artisanal textile culture and extraordinary attention to finishing detail. Italian manufacturing partners bring the kind of material expertise and design sensitivity that allows us to push constructions further and deliver on complex original artwork with precision. The Details That Actually Matter A sock lives a hard life. Pulled on and off, worn for hours, washed dozens of times. The weak points are always the same. How you address them depends on what the sock is built for — which is why Jimmy Lion doesn't apply a one-size-fits-all approach to construction. Our Athletic socks, designed for everything from street-style looks to gym sessions, feature a reinforced toe and heel construction for a denser, more durable knit in the zones that take the most punishment. The result is cushioned comfort that holds its structure over time. You'll thank us six months from now, when your favorite pair still looks and feels like they did that first wear — design intact, shape held, designs as original as ever. Our Casual socks are built around a different priority: softness and design fidelity. Here, the finishing move is a hand-linked toe seam — a construction technique that eliminates the ridge across the top of the foot entirely, for a cleaner feel against the skin and a cleaner canvas for the design. It's a detail you only notice by its absence. Different constructions, the same high standard.  The Stitch Is Never an Accident Every design you see on a Jimmy Lion sock isn't printed on — it's stitched into the sock itself. No printed socks that fade over time, the threads themselves are dyed, and each design is stitched into existence using carefully chosen yarns matched to the original artwork's palette. This matters: a stitched design is structurally part of the sock. It won't crack, peel, or fade the way a printed surface can.Take the Roy Lichtenstein x Jimmy Lion Collection for example. To do justice to Roy Lichtenstein's™ signature Ben-Day dots, his crisp outlines, his flat color planes, we opted for a piqué stitch — a technique that creates a subtle, structured texture on the sock's surface, the closest we could get in textile form to the mechanical precision of the artist's own method. A different stitch would have produced a different result. The wrong stitch would have lost something essential. That level of consideration goes into every collection we make. The design and the construction are never separate decisions. They've always been the same one. When Winter Calls: Merino Wool and Cashmere Combed cotton is the foundation of what we do year-round. But when temperatures drop, the material question changes — and so does our answer. Our Premium Winter Collection is built around two of the finest natural fibers available: extra-fine Merino wool and cashmere. Each brings something the other can't, and together they produce a sock that earns its place in your drawer the moment the cold sets in.Merino wool is not standard wool. Extra-fine Merino wool comes from a specific breed of sheep producing fibers far finer than conventional wool — fine enough that they bend rather than prick, which is what gives Merino its characteristic softness against bare skin. It's also naturally temperature-regulating, wicking moisture away from the foot and keeping warmth in, which makes it genuinely suited to winter wear rather than just a marketing claim.Cashmere is luxury in yarn form. Sourced from the undercoat of cashmere goats, it's exceptionally soft, lightweight, and has a natural loft that traps warmth without bulk. A sock with cashmere in its blend feels notably different from the moment you put it on — denser, softer, warmer — and holds that quality wash after wash when made well. Our Premium Winter Wool Cash style (36% Merino wool, 27% viscose, 27% polyamide, 9% cashmere, 1% elastane) brings these two fibers together in a blend calibrated for warmth, structure, and durability — the viscose and polyamide giving the sock the resilience to hold its shape over time, while the Merino wool and cashmere carry the comfort. This style leans further into the cashmere character, for those who want the pure luxury of the fiber at the forefront. For seasons that demand more, we also offer the Premium Winter Rec style — made with recycled materials, including recycled wool, for a construction that balances warmth with a lower environmental footprint. The same standard. Different materials. Every choice, deliberate. Built Responsibly: Our Approach to Sustainability Quality and responsibility aren't competing priorities at Jimmy Lion — they're one and the same, looked at from different angles.Across our collections, we work with a range of materials chosen not only for how they perform, but for how they're produced. 100% organic cotton — GMO and pesticide-tested, grown without synthetic chemicals — is the baseline for collections where we want both premium quality and more responsible sourcing. For our Performance Collection of technical running and cycling socks, we use ECONYL® regenerated nylon, a material made entirely from waste — discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, industrial plastic — that would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. ECONYL® performs to the same standard as virgin nylon while closing the loop on materials that already exist. It's not a compromise; it's the same quality with a better origin. We also work with recycled wool and recycled polyester — both of which divert material from waste streams and significantly reduce the carbon and water footprint compared to their virgin equivalents. Recycled polyester, in particular, contributes to reducing plastic waste and requires no petroleum-based production to create new fiber. Our manufacturing partners — certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and the Global Recycled Standard, among others — share these commitments at the production level, ensuring that responsible material choices are followed through to the finished product. And underlying it all is one of our founding principles: A sock that lasts is a more sustainable one. A product that doesn't need replacing isn't just better for the person wearing it — it's better for everything else too. Quality You Can Feel From the First Time You Put Them On The quality of a sock reveals itself the moment you pull it on — in the weight of the fabric, the way it sits on your foot, the absence of anything that rubs or bunches. But it also reveals itself over time: in a design that doesn't blur or fade, in a toe that doesn't wear through, in a sock that earns its place in your drawer week after week, year after year — long after cheaper alternatives have been quietly retired. That's what original design and serious craft produce when you put them together. Not a sock that impresses in a shop. One that justifies itself every single time you reach for it. A Jimmy Lion sock is built to be lived in — the best version is one that's been worn a hundred times and still looks like it means business. Frequently Asked Questions What makes Jimmy Lion socks high quality? Jimmy Lion socks are built around three primary pillars: premium-quality materials, original in-house created designs, and function-tailored construction. Every design is stitched directly using dyed threads — not printed on — and every stitch type is chosen specifically for the design it needs to carry. Production partners, including those in Portugal and Italy, are selected for craft standards above all else. What is combed cotton and why does it matter in socks? Combed cotton goes through an additional refining process that removes shorter, coarser fibers, leaving only the longest, smoothest strands. In a sock, that means a softer feel against the skin, a cleaner surface for design, and a yarn that holds its shape and color significantly better over time than standard cotton. Where are Jimmy Lion socks made? Jimmy Lion works with select manufacturing partners, particularly in Portugal and Italy —  two of Europe's most established textile manufacturing traditions. Portuguese mills are known for fine-gauge knitting and consistency; Italian partners bring artisanal finishing expertise and design sensitivity. Both are chosen for craft standards, not cost. Do Jimmy Lion socks use organic cotton? Many of Jimmy Lion collections incorporate organic cotton thread as part of a carefully considered blend — grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. The blend itself is chosen to strike the right balance between long-term durability and design quality: a sock that lasts is, in the end, a more sustainable one. Are Jimmy Lion sock designs original? Yes. Every Jimmy Lion design is either created in-house by our own team or developed in close collaboration with artists, estates, and creative partners. We don't license generic artwork or use stock designs. When we collaborate — as with the Roy Lichtenstein x Jimmy Lion Collection — the process is close and iterative.. What does it mean that Jimmy Lion designs are stitched together, not printed on? Rather than printing a design onto the surface of a finished sock, Jimmy Lion uses colored threads, stitching the design directly into the sock’s structure. This means the design is structurally part of the sock itself — it won't crack, peel, or fade the way a printed surface can. The stitch type is also chosen deliberately for each design, to best translate the original artwork into textile form. How long do quality socks last compared to cheap ones? A well-made sock — premium materials, reinforced construction, quality manufacturing — typically outlasts budget alternatives by a significant margin. Where a cheaper sock may lose its shape, fade, or wear through the toe within months of regular use, a Jimmy Lion sock is built to hold its structure, color, and comfort across dozens of washes. Over time, the cost per wear of a premium sock is often lower than a budget one replaced several times over. What is the difference between Jimmy Lion Athletic and Casual socks? Athletic socks feature a reinforced toe and heel construction — a denser knit in the zones that take the most punishment, designed for long-term durability and cushioning. Casual socks are built with a hand-linked toe seam, eliminating the ridge across the top of the foot for a cleaner, softer feel. Both constructions use premium combed cotton and original in-house designs. What is a hand-linked toe seam and why does it matter? A hand-linked toe seam is a finishing technique that joins the toe of a sock without creating a raised ridge across the top of the foot. Conventional socks have a seam that can be felt during extended wear. The hand-linked method eliminates it entirely, for a cleaner feel against the skin and a cleaner canvas for the design — a detail you only notice by its absence. Are premium socks worth it? A well-made sock — combed cotton, durable construction and quality manufacturing — outlasts cheaper alternatives by a significant margin and holds its shape, color, and comfort across dozens of washes. Over time, the cost per wear of a premium sock is often lower than that of a budget one replaced three times over. Beyond durability, there's the everyday experience of wearing something that was designed and made with care. Which sock brands make original designs? Jimmy Lion is one of the few sock brands that creates original artwork in-house and through curated collaborations — with artists, illustrators, and cultural estates — rather than licensing generic imagery. Each design is developed specifically for the sock format, with color, composition and stitch type all considered as part of the same creative process,  and produced in Portugal and Italy by partners who share the same commitment to craft. What are Jimmy Lion winter socks made of? The Jimmy Lion Premium Winter Collection features two flagship constructions. The Premium Winter Wool Cash style combines extra-fine Merino wool and cashmere (36% Merino wool, 27% viscose, 27% polyamide, 9% cashmere, 1% elastane) — a blend built for warmth, softness, and durability across the cold months. This style places cashmere more prominently at the forefront for those who want the full luxury character of the fiber. The Premium Winter Wool Rec style is made with recycled materials, including recycled wool, for a construction that balances warmth with a lower environmental footprint. What is the difference between Merino wool and regular wool in socks? Extra-fine Merino wool comes from a specific breed of sheep producing fibers significantly finer than standard wool. The fineness is what matters: fine enough fibers bend rather than prick, which is why Merino sits comfortably against bare skin where regular wool can feel scratchy. Merino is also naturally temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking, making it a genuinely functional winter material rather than just a premium label. Why is cashmere used in socks? Cashmere — sourced from the undercoat of cashmere goats — is exceptionally soft, lightweight, and naturally warm. It has a loft that traps heat without adding bulk, and its softness is immediately noticeable. In a sock, cashmere elevates the feel of the fabric from the first wear. In a well-constructed blend, it also holds these qualities over time rather than degrading quickly. Are Jimmy Lion socks sustainable? Sustainability at Jimmy Lion is built into material and manufacturing choices across product lines. We incorporate 100% organic cotton, ECONYL® regenerated nylon (made from waste materials including discarded fishing nets), recycled wool, and recycled polyester (rPET, which diverts plastic from landfill and requires no petroleum-based production). Our manufacturing partners hold certifications including OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and the Global Recycled Standard, among others. And across everything we make, durability is treated as a sustainability principle in its own right: A sock that lasts doesn't need replacing. What is ECONYL® and why does Jimmy Lion use it? ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon made entirely from waste materials — discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, and industrial plastic that would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. It performs to the same standard as virgin nylon while giving a second life to pre-existing materials. Jimmy Lion uses it in our Performance Collection of technical running and cycling socks, where both durability and a lower environmental footprint are priorities. Thanks socks much! Weiterlesen
Roy Lichtenstein x Jimmy Lion: When Art Leaves the Wall

Roy Lichtenstein x Jimmy Lion: When Art Leaves the Wall

Roy Lichtenstein™, the founder of Pop Art in America, built a prolific career on a radical premise — that the boldly-colored imagery of comic strips and advertisements deserved a place alongside fine art. A defining figure of the Pop Art movement, his large-scale paintings blurred the boundary between high culture and everyday visual life, cementing his legacy as one of the most iconic and enduring artists of the 20th century. Using Ben-Day dots, the mechanical technique borrowed from newspaper and comic strip printing, he replicated the method by hand on a monumental scale, blurring the line between fine art and popular culture in a whole new way. That tension between high and low, between the gallery and the street, is exactly where Jimmy Lion lives. We've always believed that great design belongs on your body, not just behind glass. That self-expression doesn't require a museum visit. So when the opportunity came to bring this collaboration to life, it felt less like a creative decision and more like an inevitability. The Art Behind the Designs Every piece in this collection is built around a specific Roy Lichtenstein™ work, reproduced with the same fidelity to his visual language — primary colors, crisp outlines, signature dots — that made these images iconic in the first place. Girl in Bath (1963) and Hopeless (1963) anchor two of the Athletic sock designs, Athletic Roy Lichtenstein Girl in Bath and Athletic Roy Lichtenstein Hopeless,  in the emotional intensity of Roy Lichtenstein's™ early Pop Art period — the dramatic compositions, the comic-strip heroines, the scenes that walked the line between sincerity and irony. Girl with Hair Ribbon (1965) continues that thread, one of his most recognizable recurring motifs translated into a cushy pair of ribbed organic cotton socks, Athletic Roy Lichtenstein Girl with Hair Ribbon. On the tee side, Girl in Bath (1963) makes a second appearance (Roy Lichtenstein Girl in Bath Tee) alongside Arrrrrff (1962) (Roy Lichtenstein Arrrrrff Dog Tee) — one of his earliest comic-strip works — and Still Life with Crystal Bowl (1972) and Two Apples (1972), come together in one tee, Roy Lichtenstein Two Apples Still Life with Crystal Bowl Tee, to show a different dimension of the artist’s career: the still lifes and landscapes that marked a dramatic departure from his earlier style, extending his signature techniques into new territory. A Collection Worth Keeping Roy Lichtenstein™ became known for transforming the boldly-colored imagery of comic strips and advertisements into large-scale paintings that challenged the boundaries of fine art. There's something fitting, then, about seeing that work find a new life in fashion — another means of accessibility, another space where art and the everyday collide. This limited edition collection consists of three organic cotton blend sock designs; three 200 g 100% organic cotton tees with Premium screen printing built to hold the vibrancy of the originals; and one collectible Athletic Roy Lichtenstein Pack featuring all three sock designs in a Premium gift box, with a pack-exclusive enamel pin inspired by Hot Dog (1964). THE CREATIVE CORNER: CHARLIE ARSAN

THE CREATIVE CORNER: CHARLIE ARSAN

Charlie Arsan doesn’t separate creativity from endurance, or sport from activism. The Paris-based artist, ultra-athlete, writer and founder of Résiliente Association and Runners CC moves between disciplines the same way she moves through a long-distance effort: with instinct, intention and a deep trust in the process. On the heels of the UN Race for Women, organized alongside Women RCC and ONU Femmes, we spoke with Charlie about how creativity fuels her work — from building communities through running to writing, creating and advocating for women to take up space, physically and socially. At the center of it all is one idea: listening to her own creative instinct, even when the world is loud. You wear many hats — artist, ultra-athlete, activist, writer... Which of those roles came first, and how did one lead to the others? Art came first: creation was my first language. Sport followed as a physical extension of the same drive to explore and test limits, always through an artist’s gaze. Engagement emerged when I understood that personal experience could resonate beyond the self and take on a collective dimension. Was there a moment when you realized they were all part of the same path? I realized it through ultra-endurance. Creation and long-distance effort meet in the same place: a solitary dialogue with one’s deepest self. Both require going inward, slowing down internally, and entering into conversation with oneself and with the world. When I run, I do so with an artist’s gaze, attentive to what the body and the landscapes are revealing. That is when the separation dissolved. I understood that the universe is present in every living thing, and that the role of the artist is to act as an intermediary: to reveal a direction, to remind us that the whole lives within each part, and that every gesture carries something larger than itself. When you take on a new challenge — starting a new painting, sculpting something from zero, or facing a blank page — what does your creative process look like? My process starts with observation and listening. I let sensations guide the first steps before defining any form or direction. I work through repetition and adjustment, allowing the work to evolve rather than forcing outcomes. Just like in endurance sport, I move forward without a fixed plan, trusting the body and the process to reveal clarity over time. The UN Race for Women just took place— what does this race mean to you, and what do you hope women felt when they crossed the finish line? This event is not about performance, but about presence and rights. It is a collective act where women reclaim space: physically, socially, and symbolically. I hope women complete the run feeling grounded, legitimate, and connected: to their bodies, to one another, and to their own power. It is a reminder that movement can be political, gentle, and collective, while remaining deeply personal. Beyond the finish line, what are you personally running toward? I have never run toward a finish line. I run toward meaning. Toward alignment.I run to carry a message that we can choose. Choose to try. Choose to dare. Choose to take up space, as women, without apology. Following your instinct seems central to how you move through sport, art and activism. What does that mean to you in practice? How do you quiet external noise when making big decisions? For me, instinct is built through experience and solitude. External noise tends to fade when values are clear. When making decisions, I don’t ask myself what will look good or be well received — I ask what feels true and aligned.  Steel Coffee Shop, Paris While you travel the world, you hang your hat in Paris. What are your go-to spots to: refuel post training: Steel Coffee Shop: good quality coffee, simple and nourishing food and friends. enjoy a quiet Parisian breakfast: Early mornings in neighborhood cafés, when the city is still slow: Bonjour Jacob, Ten Bells, Partisans. get inspired: Walks without destination, Bourdelle Museum’s gardens, long meditative rides. run or ride: The quais of the Seine, especially at sunrise. work on your next project: Anywhere with natural light, a notebook, and space to think. What matters most is calm, not location. Quais of the Seine, Paris Which Jimmy Lion designs are more you? I’m drawn to designs inspired by art and expression; pieces that tell a story, like those in the Animal Instinct Collection. If you had to describe Jimmy Lion in 3 words, what would they be and why?  Creative: for its strong connection to art and self-expression.Bold: for blending performance with personality. Playful: for proving that joy and seriousness can coexist. Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen

THE CREATIVE CORNER: MAURIX

THE CREATIVE CORNER: MAURIX

For Maurix, design is more than a job, it’s a way of seeing and living the world. For him, every color, shape and space speaks volumes. But his creativity isn’t limited to a screen. With his trademark style, he’s transformed his skin into a canvas full of stories, different influences and experimentation. From his studio in Madrid, Treehauss, he combines identity, authenticity and a global vision to deliver his unique style, like when he took over Jimmy Lion’s rebranding in 2023. In this edition of The Creative Corner, we discussed the cities that inspire him, the importance of creative processes and the way passion transforms into a legacy, even within a family.Your style is very personal, authentically yours. Where do you find inspiration? What is it that you love most about design?I’m self-taught. My passion for design stems from punk, fanzines, posters and all that graphic imagery. DIY was my starting point. I’ve always been fascinated by traditional American design, the way they take care of their branding and the strength of their messaging. I try to transmit that energy in my work. I’m meticulous at every step of the process taking care of the details, even if the result seems simple, or at least I aim for that sensation. I’m 100% a Capricorn. Before I was obsessed with the effect of the final result. But now I enjoy the process more: the research, the color study, the panels, to find the meaning of what I’m doing. You can tell when there’s coherence and research behind a design. We live surrounded by stimuli: every day you might see and like a thousand designs, but you’ll only remember two or three. Therein lies the challenge. Finding your own voice. Design isn’t isolated to your work, it’s also all over you. Tell us about your tattoos and how they reflect your creativity. It all goes hand in hand. Youthful zest led me to a lifestyle I still embrace. I could talk for days about my tattoos (especially the worst ones). I have a little of everything: big pieces and… big disasters. But they all represent me and who I am.I mostly have traditional tattoos. My chest, back, and some pieces on my arms and legs were tattooed by Bara, a reference worldwide. I also have work by Dientes de Vampiro, Fvego, Rodrigo DC, Mario Prado, Juan Jiménez, among others. They’re almost all by people close to me, which makes them even more personal. For me, each tattoo has the same value as a design: an aesthetic decision that expresses who you are, remembers a specific moment in time, or celebrates an idea that you’d like to leave on your skin. In the end, it’s yet another way to design, the only difference is the medium – which doesn’t happen to age particularly well hahaha. How did your artistic journey begin and where is it taking you now?I studied Audiovisual Communication, focused on videos and graphics, but I was always really connected to the underground scene. My thesis was about deconstructive graphics and David Carson (visionary graphic designer who worked with Nike, Pepsi Cola, Ray Bans and more!). His covers for Raygun or Transworld Skateboarding were pure force. Over the years I’ve learned to simplify, valuing order and clarity. I try to make it so that each project has its own identity and rhythm. Even though I have a clear work structure, every client is different. I’m really extroverted and I think the personal relationship with clients changes everything. I don’t consider myself an agency, I like to maintain that direct contact. Many times a good talk tells you more than a standard brief. Right now I’m developing the identity and branding of a Premium canned goods company, and it’s a hugely diverse project that’s pushing me to explore new forms.Speaking of creative processes, what was yours like with Jimmy Lion’s rebranding? My relationship with the brand goes way back. First as a client, back at the beginning during the bright colors phase. Then the owners, Felipe and Álvaro, asked me to design some special product packaging – which was used for years. We seem to really get each other, and so a while back they called me again asking about the rebranding. I have to say that at first I had a bit of vertigo: Jimmy Lion’s lion had been an iconic part of the brand for so long that touching it seemed like a huge risk. The goal was to bring a level of maturity to the brand without losing its essence. We simplified the logotype making it much more versatile and easy to integrate into different places. The final result is stronger and demands to be seen. I sincerely think it’s been a roaring  (forgive the pun) success. Now that you’re a dad, how do you share the creative world with your son?Well my wife is the true artist in our home. She’s an illustrator, designer and writer. We have about a thousand materials to paint or sculpt around our house, even though half the time you don’t know what’s going to work and what’s not.One day while I was cleaning, something spilled on our son… and it ended up turning my Jimmy Lion Athletic Essentials into a pretty amazing piece of tie-dye. We’ve laughed about it a lot ever since. He loves painting and is starting to get curious about color, but we don’t want to push him. Music is what really brings us together: we dance, sing, and discover new things side by side. Madrid has changed a lot over the past few years. How have you experienced that evolution?Madrid has changed, but so have we. The Madrid of 2025 isn’t the same as the one I landed in back in 1999 — and that’s a good thing.Today there’s more energy, more culture, more movement. Galleries, exhibitions, projects… The city feels alive.I don’t know if I’ve evolved for better or for worse, but I’ve matured in my own way. I’m lucky to be surrounded by artists and creatives, and that keeps you on your toes. The years fly by, but I can’t complain. Speaking of “your Madrid”: What are your go-to spots? For a drinkBeer Garden in Chamberí, El Gato in Malasaña, Hola Coffee in Lavapiés or Lagasca, Las Nieves, and Trafalgar. For art or exhibitionsThe long-gone Watdafac Gallery, Elba Benítez, La Casa Encendida, Swinton, Matadero, and Colección SOLO are all favorites. But honestly… The streets themselves are the best. For some peace and quietAt home, always! For good food I’m a vegetarian and not really a foodie, but I love Invernadero, Barganzo, Numa, Vega, Noi, Parking Pizza, and the veggie rice at Espiedo. For tattoosBirdcave Tattoo, True Love Tattoo, Trinidad in Pontevedra, and I’m looking forward to checking out Gony Zubizarreta’s studio.Which Jimmy Lion designs do you go for?Definitely the Athletic Essentials — for the material, fit, and colors. I guess that officially makes me old and boring. And to finish, describe Jimmy Lion in three words.Quality, Trendsetting, Solid.Thank you socks much for reading! Weiterlesen
THE CREATIVE CORNER: EVELINA KROON

THE CREATIVE CORNER: EVELINA KROON

Pelikan Restaurant, Stockholm, Sweden. ‘‘What I hope to evoke through my work depends on the project, but in general, I want people to feel something quietly familiar.’’ – Evelina Kroon, Artist For our latest edition of The Creative Corner, we sat down with Evelina Kroon, the Stockholm-based artist behind our latest collection, Evelina Kroon x Jimmy Lion. She’s as generous with her know-how as she is with her unique use of color, and we’re thrilled to share our talk with you as we chat creativity and her go-to Stockholm hangs. Looking back, how did your journey as an artist begin, and what projects are you excited about right now?I’ve been going to art school pretty much since I was a kid, mainly because my parents encouraged it early on, and then I just kept going. It hasn’t been a straight path, exactly, but it’s the only thing I’m actually trained in, and quite possibly the only thing I really know how to do. Since then, it’s been a mix of random chances, focused work, and a bit of luck that’s made it possible for me to keep at it.I’m looking forward to a few collaborations launching this fall. Especially one that involves socks, which I’m very excited about! And then there’s an exhibition later this autumn that feels like a step forward. Or maybe outward. Either way, it feels good. Lilla Espressobar, Stockholm, Sweden. How do you express your creativity through color, and how has your approach evolved over time? What feelings or stories do you hope to evoke through your designs?I express my creativity mainly through color, experimenting with different combinations, contrasts, and subtle shifts that can completely change the mood of a piece. I think creativity shows up for me mostly through small decisions, like what to highlight, what to leave out, or how to balance perfection with imperfection, something (like in color or scale) that feels a bit off. What I hope to evoke through my work depends on the project, but in general, I want people to feel something quietly familiar. Pelikan Restaurant & the artist’s home, Stockholm, Sweden. What’s it like turning your artwork into wearable pieces? How does that change your relationship with your art?Turning my artwork into wearable pieces is a different kind of process. It’s about how the work lives beyond the static.I like that the designs become something you experience throughout the day, not just look at. It pushes me to rethink materials and ways of working, finding balance between art and function.Living in Stockholm, how does the city and its atmosphere influence your color choices and artistic process?Living in Stockholm seeps into my work quietly. The mix of cold, clear light and muted tones often finds its way into my color choices. I work with materials close at hand: like tape, which lets me build layers, transparency, and depth.Stockholm’s structure and subtle shifts inspire me to balance order and spontaneity, especially when working with grids and patterns. Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Fredsgatan), Stockholm, Sweden. Which design from the Evelina Kroon x Jimmy Lion Collection do you feel best captures your style, and why?The Evelina Kroon Blue Pattern brings together my go-to colors, blue, burgundy, and off-white; a combo that probably reflects my style the most. But in the end, it’s all about the bigger picture; they shine brightest as a team. Pelikan Restaurant, Stockholm, Sweden. Your Stockholm: What are your go-to spots for…?grabbing a coffeeI prefer to drink my coffee at home — it’s basically my breakfast. But I’m surrounded by plenty of fika experts, and Stockholm has a great selection. I sometimes end up at Café on Hornsgatan, then move on to Lilla Espressobar, also on Hornsgatan. Convenient.finding inspiration & a bitePelikan (Blekingegatan)! It’s always been there — good prices, rustic food. Noisy atmosphere and high ceilings.experiencing art and cultureStockholm has quite a few great museums — unfortunately, free admission was scrapped after a very poor decision by our government. On weekends, I enjoy gallery hopping (still free!) with the kids, and during the week with friends. Actually, two of these photos are from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Fredsgatan) in Stockholm.unwinding after a creative dayI cherish my sofa, my bed, my TV, a quiet moment lost in scrolling on my phone, and the comfort of a good book. At home. I’m definitely a very lazy home person. Pelikan Restaurant, Stockholm, Sweden. And last but not least, if you had to describe Jimmy Lion in three words, what would you say?Jimmy Lion in (almost) three words: Party for (your) feet! Thanks socks much for reading! You might be a Dudeist and not even know it.What Is Dudeism?Simply put, Dudeism is a philosophy based on The Dude’s relaxed and carefree attitude. It promotes going with the flow, avoiding unnecessary stress, and not taking things too seriously. As The Dude himself says: “The Dude abides.”While inspired by the ‘98 classic, the movement officially began in 2005 when writer and journalist Oliver Benjamin, also known as the Dudely-Lama, founded the Church of the Latter-Day Dude. Since then, thousands of people have been ordained as Dudeist priests in this open and easy-going community. Recent estimates cite as many as 800,000 practicing Dudeists as of today! The Fundamentals of Dudeism Relax and Go With the Flow – Don’t stress, life is easier when you adapt to what comes your way. In other words: “Just take it easy, mankind.” Don’t Take Things Too Seriously – A sense of humor and a calm attitude are essential to a fulfilling life.  Avoid Unnecessary Conflict – Don’t get caught up in meaningless drama. As The Dude says: “That’s just, like, your opinion, man.” Enjoy the Simple Pleasures – A comfy pair of Athletic The Big Lebowski The Dude socks, a White Russian, a game of bowling… Happiness is found in the little things. Featuring songs by Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Gipsy Kings, the film’s music perfectly captures The Dude’s laid-back and carefree essence. In tribute, we’ve put together our own The Big Lebowski playlist featuring some of the film’s top tracks alongside more modern songs for an eclectic mix that just works.Because at the end of the day, the Dude abides. Thanks socks much for reading! CONOCE A BRIANDA FITZ-JAMES STUART @BRIANDAFJSTUART

MEET BRIANDA FITZ-JAMES STUART @BRIANDAFJSTUART

Thank you socks much! Weiterlesen
3 cosas que no sabías sobre el sexo

3 Things You Didn’t Know About Sex

When it comes to the horizontal tango, the more you know, the better. Inspired by our latest collection of irresistible socks, LOVE, we bring you three little-known facts about sex. Mindfulness Can Lead to Better Sex Sexual arousal originates in the brain, where neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin play pivotal roles in desire and pleasure. In fact, your brain is one of the body’s largest sex organs (not counting skin and all of its tingly sensations). Anyway, the good news is you can train your brain for better sex. If you regularly meditate, you’re ahead of the game! Practicing mindfulness and stress-reduction techniques can enhance sexual satisfaction by positively influencing the production of these feel-good brain chemicals. In other words: zen mind = mind-blowing sex.  Wearing Socks Might Help You… Hit the Spot A study from the University of Groningen found that providing participants with socks during sexual activity increased their comfort, leading to 80% achieving orgasm, compared to 50% of those without socks. This suggests that physical comfort and warmth can play a significant role in sexual satisfaction. So… what are you waiting for? Sock up! They Do It on the Discovery Channel for Fun Too While most animals get down to it to reproduce, some species like dolphins and bonobo monkeys do it just because. From boredom, to social bonding and pleasure, some wildlife is wilder than you think! Thanks socks much! Weiterlesen
5 CITAS INSPIRADORAS DE KEITH HARING

THE ART OF POSITIVITY: 5 INSPIRING KEITH HARING QUOTES

Thanks socks much! Weiterlesen
40 años de Gremlins™

Gremlins™ Fun Facts: The ‘80s Cult Classic

¿Y cómo iba a saberlo?

Favorite Jean-Michel Basquiat Quotes

Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen

Descubre los deportes olímpicos menos conocidos

Did you know these were olympic sports?

With the Summer Olympics just around the corner in Paris, we couldn’t help but pay tribute to some of the most epic moments in sports history with our brand new Olympics-inspired t-shirt collection. Each original unisex tee is made with 100% organic cotton for the softest fit that’s made to last. Savagely bold, each design is our own unique take on some of the Games’ most iconic sports. But beyond the obvious crowd favorites like gymnastics, how many of these sports did you know were celebrated at the Olympics?  NOTHING BUT GREEN Tee up for this classic. In case you missed it: Golf is a beloved Summer Olympic sport. It was first celebrated at the 1900 Olympic Games and has only been celebrated a handful of times since: in 1904, 2016, 2020, 2021, and now, 2024! In honor of this (kind of) new sport, we present our Hole in One tee. FAN FAVORITE: GYMNASTICS Then of course, there are fan favorites like gymnastics. Who doesn’t love a bound-to-go-viral floor routine? In honor of the insanely talented athletes behind one of the world’s most popular sports, we bring you our Flip and Roll tee! THE MORE, THE MERRIER When the modern Olympics were taking shape, cycling formed a part of the event’s five core sports. So in honor of cycling’s long history, we present the Cannibal Route tee. Horseback Riding, featured on our Saddle Up tee, is also one of the game’s oldest disciplines. While track and volleyball get a lot of love, other sports like boxing and baseball are also popular events. Like golf, boxing dates back to the start of the 1900s and was first celebrated in 1904 in St. Louis. It wasn’t until 2012 however until the women’s category was opened. Rounding out the roster, we have America’s pastime, baseball, which officially joined the Olympic program in 1992.   HIT THE WATER Then of course, there are warm weather favorites that make a splash. Literally. From sailing to the High Dive, aquatic athletes are taking over. Diving joined the Olympic ranks in 1904 while sailing debuted in 1896. In fact, our Finn Class tee honors one of the most popular sailboat models, the Finn dinghy, which was widely used by Olympians for decades. That rounds out our brief rundown of lesser known Olympic sports. How many were you familiar with? And which events would you like added to the roster? We know we can’t wait to watch this year’s Games and cheer on all of the Champions this summer! Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen

Conoce a Ynés

Lerne Ynés Suelves

We are absolutely buzzed to launch the second edition of our Woman by Woman series with a very special collaboration, Ynés Suelves x Jimmy Lion! Get an inside look at the creative process behind this limited-edition collection… Let’s talk roses! More than an iconic element of your art (and your brand’s logo), it’s also present in your slogan: "Let’s plant roses all over the world". What do roses mean to you, and what would you like to say with them? For us, the rose is a symbol that represents strength, beauty and purity. Throughout the years my mom and I have dreamt of the rose's potential power, and of our dream of planting roses all over the world. But beyond wanting our brand to cross borders, we want the rose to have a more positive message around the world. With time, we would love to be able to donate a portion of our profits to social projects – do our part to make the world a better place.  This is the first collaboration of our Woman by Woman series in which we turn to one talented woman to design socks for women. But this collection really has no limitations and is for everyone. That said, how do you think art can be used to break down barriers and to help create a more inclusive world? Art, in the end, has always been about that. It’s mankind’s tool for breaking down the barriers of our day-to-day and opening up a whole new world of possibilities. It’s our way of creating, during which, we evolve. Art is the most authentic way we have to express ourselves and communicate as individuals to the rest of the world. Art has a unique fearlessness that allows it to show reality just as it is, no matter how raw, and that is, really, crucial so that people can open their minds. Creativity is in your blood, especially since your mom is also an artist. How has she inspired you? My mom has shown me a different way of seeing the world, she’s shown me not to put limits on myself, that everything is possible. Actually, she always responds with "WHY NOT?" (although when she sends me a message it’s usually "Y NOT?"). On the other hand, she’s inspired me to find the beauty in everything, to train my eye and mind to find something beautiful in every little thing. You’re a multi-disciplinary artist: you create jewelry, design clothes, you sculpt and paint murals… What’s your creative process like? And what are some of the challenges of each material or medium? Going back to the idea of limits, once we start creating and dreaming up a new project, all barriers disappear. We like to create a whole universe around our collections. Our process is pretty simple. We need to chat, brainstorm and spit out every single idea that pops into our heads without fear, no matter how silly or crazy (as my mom always says, "Y NOT?"). We always bank on doing things the best way possible, of the highest quality, and with the environment in mind, while also still taking care of the legacy created by our forebearers. You recently reflected, "I don’t look for perfection, but I look for beauty and utility [...]🌹". When it came to this collection, how did you work that thinking into the design process? How did you choose the materials? The designs? For us, everything boils down to something as simple as "beautiful and useful". At the end of the day, fashion is clothing. It’s not only a tool for self-expression, but also serves a purpose and is functional. I think there are two types of designers: those who design for the clothes to be used; and those who design with a more artistic aim. I value both, but I belong to the first group. For me, clothing makes sense and comes to life when somebody wears it, when it’s comfortable and not only makes them feel good, but also speaks to who they are. When it came to designing this collection, it was pretty simple, especially since there are few things more practical than socks. Not only that, but socks can play such a big part in someone’s look. With that in mind, we had a few things crystal clear: a unisex design with our most emblematic designs that was as comfortable as possible.  Which design’s your favorite and why? It’s hard to choose, but I’d have to say the Athletic Rose — it’s the most authentic and representative [of my work]. What’s your favorite album or go-to band when you need some inspiration? It changes all the time, but right now I can’t get enough of Billie Eilish. What advice would you give to aspiring artists? That they try to be themselves and not to be afraid — it’s the only way to stand out as unique. And, last but not least: Coffee or tea? I’d love to say tea, but I’m a hopeless coffee addict! Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen
Tune In: 1.0

Tune In: 1.0

To inaugurate our Tune In series, we asked our talented team to suggest killer songs to transition us from winter to spring. The best part? Our team is as diverse as our socks are cool, so our selection is, in a word, divine. Discover Our Team’s Picks 1. ‘Legal Man’ by Belle and Sebastian: It’s pretty springtime-y, pretty psychedelic. You can just picture yourself frolicking through a field while the flowers around you sing, ‘Get out of the city and into the sunshine/Get out of the office and into the springtime’. 2. ‘La boob oscillator’ by Stereolab: Enough said.3. ‘Siempre brilla el sol’ (‘The sun always shines’) by Lori Meyes: I think it’s a pretty upbeat song to welcome spring.4. ‘She’s a rainbow’ by The Rolling Stones: A classic.5. ‘First Love/Late Spring’ by Mitski: It starts out a little slow, but then picks up and gives off positive energy.6. ‘Cough Syrup’ by Young the Giant: This song takes me back to high school, driving around winding mountain roads with the windows down, the smell of flowers in the air. 7. ‘White Winter Hymnal’ by Fleet Foxes: It’s a little obvious, but if we’re talking about the transition from winter to spring, it’s the first song that comes to mind. 8. ‘Feenicks’ by Szymon: Try not to be happy listening to this song. Just try.9. ‘Confidence (Sped up)’ by Scammacist, Little London, Nick Sterling: Because it just gives off good vibes!10. ‘Viva la Vida’ by Coldplay: This one really motivates me, gets me going.11. ‘La Primavera Trompetera’ by Los Delincuentes: Mentally, it transports me to a place with good weather.12. ‘Me gusta la Vida’ by Funambulista: Good vibes in a song.13. ‘Don't Stop Me Now’ by Queen: It’s pure energy. 14. ‘Walking on Sunshine’ by Katrina & The Waves: It just makes ya wanna dance. And that’s it for our first edition of Tune In. Each season we’ll work together to put together a collaborative playlist to reflect the changing season. And in the meantime, don’t miss our monthly playlists! Follow us on Spotify for the latest. Thanks socks much for reading (and listening)! Weiterlesen

Un Vistazo al 2023

2023: Ein Rückblick

As we close another amazing year, we can’t help but look back at some of the greatest moments we’ve shared over the last 12 months. It was a year of many firsts and new adventures, and we can’t believe how lucky we are to do what we do. We made moves to get us closer to our sustainability goals, opting for the use of better materials like certified organic cotton, regenerated nylon and recycled wool. These materials opened the door for us to launch brand new products like our first ever Performance Collection of technical running and cycling socks (made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon), and our first line of tees (made with 100% organic cotton)! To tie it all together, we decided it was time to revamp our look, so we debuted our daring new logo & mission in September, complete with a newer, bolder version of our beloved lion head. We also had the opportunity to expand to cities closer to you, opening new pop-up stores in France, Italy and Spain. None of this would have been possible without a monumental effort by our team, which, we’re pleased to say, grew to 50 talented folks. And, of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank YOU. So thank you, and cheers to 2024! Weiterlesen

Apuesta responsable: algodón orgánico

Materialien zählen: Bio-Baumwolle

When it comes to bringing our original designs to life, all materials are not made equal. As part of our continued commitment to getting us closer to our sustainability goals, we have worked hard to find the perfect mix of better materials and more responsible production. After careful consideration, we’ve determined that, for both sustainability and durability, certified organic cotton is the best fit for many of our products. What is organic cotton? To be recognized as such, organic cotton must be certified separately from other cotton. Internationally recognized entities, like OEKO-TEX® and the Textile Exchange, verify the safety and quality of organic cotton using a rigorous standardized system. It is tested to ensure it’s free of harmful chemicals including pesticides. Not only does this mean that organic cotton is safe for humans, but it also means that it is free of harmful chemicals during its production – which has a direct impact on the natural habitat where it’s grown.  What are some of the other benefits of certified organic cotton? 1. What You See Is What You Get: Traceability From the farm to your favorite pair of socks or go-to tee, with certified organic cotton, you can track the chain of custody ensuring more transparency. 2. Good-for-You Feel: GMO & Pesticide-Tested Our 100% organic cotton is tested and certified to ensure it contains <10% GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) and is free of harmful pesticides. How do we integrate the use of organic cotton into the production of our original designs? Once certified, the organic cotton is spun into organic cotton threads which our family-owned factories in Europe use to stitch together our original designs. We understand that sustainability is multifaceted. Materials matter, but so does durability and quality. To ensure both, our team carefully devises the ideal composition for each product. For our bold tees, we found that 100% organic cotton was our best bet. For our original socks, we’ve opted for durable organic paired with colorful blends to ensure our designs pop. This blend ticks all the boxes: Esta mezcla cumple todos los requisitos: Original design? ✔️ Durability? ✔️ Better materials? ✔️ Responsible production and making strides towards our sustainability goals is a true balancing act. Working with organic cotton is just the beginning. We’re excited to continue innovating and will take a closer look at our better materials soon! Thanks socks much! Weiterlesen

Travel Diaries: Angola, África

Reisetagebuch: Angola, Afrika

The further we go from home, the more convinced we become that wherever you go, people are people. Kindness is kindness, and authenticity is wildly underrated. On our latest adventure, we had the chance to visit Angola, a nation in southern Africa rich with rivers, beaches and generous people. Angola, In Pictures Boards, towels and a change of clothes – we pack up and head down the dusty road to explore. Zé and Reginho, our local guides, show us some of the most peaceful beaches we’ve ever set foot on. The setting calls for a cold local brew, a sunset stroll and plenty of introspection. Sun, salt, surf and a day we’ll never forget. Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen

El arte detrás de

The Making of

Descubre The Mismatched Collection. Thanks socks much! Weiterlesen
La inspiración...

Inside the Inspo

¡Inolvidable! Thanks socks much! “Si no soy yo mismo, ¿quién lo será?”– Alfred Hitchcock Thanks socks much! Rituales de Autoexpresión

Wege zur Selbstverwirklichung

A trial run on the foamy white crests of the ocean; another day’s commute through a sea of people on a crowded sidewalk. Somewhere in New York City, someone slides their shoes on, adjusts their socks. Somewhere in the Mediterranean, someone dips their toes in the salty water for the day’s last ride. Every move we make is self expression; every accessory we wear, a statement. Both style and surfing are two deeply personal rituals that call for authenticity. Both ask for an acceptance that not every wave, not every trend is the right fit – of knowing yourself before diving in. Snapshots of Authenticity: Salt, Sea and Style Despite bewitching Jack London and Mark Twain; inspiring The Ramones; and taking over Hollywood’s big screen, surfing stays simple. At its core, surfing is freedom At its core, surfing is freedom – a passion for authenticity, to be bold. This passion to be authentic, on and off the water, is a modern-day sort of tribalism that unites folks across different walks of life. From Montauk, New York to Santander, Spain, surfers nod knowingly as they brace themselves for the next wave. From Madrid to New York City, strangers smile at each other in the metro when they notice they’re wearing matching socks... Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen

Me encanta abrazar a Ricardo. Y a Bego. O… ¿Dónde está Walter?

Wo ist Walter? oder Wo ist... Wally?

"A Wally by any other name would be as fun.” – Shakespeare, probably Did you know that everyone’s favorite puzzle book character’s name changes around the world?Originally dubbed Wally by British creator and illustrator, Martin Handford, his moniker changed when he hopped over the pond to North America. Wally became Waldo.  Why? Pretty simple really: Publishers around the world decided to give “Wally” a name that local readers would be familiar with, hence the minor tweak. The more popular he became, the more names he got under his belt. So, think you’re up for it? Do you think you could match the name to the country? Where’s… 1. Charlie a) France        b) Italy        c) US & Canada 2. Walter a) Denmark   b) Germany   c) US & Canada 3. Conócenos: Estas son nuestras diseñadoras

Unser Kreativteam: Die Designerinnen von Jimmy Lion

The create(hers), Lucía (Product Design Director), Irene (Product Designer) and Marcela (Junior Product Designer), were kind enough to explain what goes on just so I can strut around with my favorite cool socks on my feet. First off, a few get-to-know-ya questions:  Where are you from? Lucía: SpainIrene: ItalyMarcela: Colombia Describe your design style with one emoji, go! Lucía: 😜Irene: 🤯Marcela: 🐯 Now could you please walk us through the process? There are three stages more or less: inspiration, design and production. Where do you find inspiration? Everywhere! From music, TV, trips to museums, books...literally everywhere. We also get a good idea of trends from social media. We always try to bring something fresh to the table. Once we’re good and inspired, we start throwing some concepts back and forth. We love to make mood boards – the more pictures, the better. How do you design? Digitally or by hand? A bit of both. Once we’ve decided on a concept as a team, we start sketching the designs – by hand, digitally, whatever feels best. Here’s where we throw around some color options too. The team decides on the final designs and colors. Once we have the go ahead, we send the designs off to the factories! And then production starts? First, the factory sends us several samples and thread color cards so we can make any last minute changes. Once we’ve worked out all the kinks, we give them the okay, and the factory starts putting together the final products! And they’re manufactured in Italy or in Portugal, right? Yes, we like to keep manufacturing close so we can ensure the highest quality. We’re also starting to use more organic cotton in our designs. We’re aware of how important sustainability is and are taking steps to get where we’d like to be. And that’s it? That’s it. Thanks so much! Now, don’t think, just answer: Coffee or Tea? Lucía: CoffeeIrene: CoffeeMarcela: Tea Beach or mountains? Lucía: BeachIrene: BeachMarcela: Mountains Cats or Dogs? Lucía: DogsIrene: CatsMarcela: Cats Concert or play? Lucía: ConcertIrene: ConcertMarcela: Concert Netflix or HBO? Lucía: NetflixIrene: HBOMarcela: HBO! (But I really watch more Filmin.) And finally, which socks are your favorites? Lucía: Octopus!Irene:  Insects or Hare Head!Marcela: Beetles or Cranes! Thanks socks much! Weiterlesen
Pros y contras del algodón orgánico

Ein paar Fakten über Bio-Baumwolle

Both regular and organic cotton are high-quality materials that produce premium-quality products (in our case, cool socks). However, organic cotton is grown without harmful chemicals and leaves a lighter carbon footprint behind. That’s why we’re working to include more of it in our original socks! While many of our Athletic designs were already made with organic cotton, we wanted to bring this more sustainable practice to the production of our Casual socks as well! That’s where our Garden Collection comes in! It’s our first collection made with 100% ISO & OEKO - TEX® certified organic cotton. And it’s just the beginning. But is organic really better? Benefits Less water contamination Less air pollution Lower impact on the surrounding ecosystems Better crop diversity = healthier soil = more stable ecosystems which, in turn, creates more jobs as the land can be farmed year round Drawbacks Smaller yields More expensive to produce & harvest Supply can’t always keep up with demand In the end, the pros greatly outweigh the cons. And while we’d love to go in 100% with organic cotton, we want to do so responsibly. In the meantime, we’ll be able to stay on track with our sustainability goals! Thanks socks much! Weiterlesen
Conoce a Manon Lanza

Lerne Manon Lanza alias @allonsrider kennen

She might split her time between Biarritz (France) and Los Angeles (USA), but her heart belongs 100% to boarding – skate, snow and surf. With no further ado, meet the daring athlete, author and designer, Manon Lanza. Tell us a little about yourself. Hi! My name is Manon Lanza aka @allonsrider and I'm living between Los Angeles, USA and Biarritz, France. I'm passionate about board sports. When I'm not surfing, I'm on my skateboard and when it's too cold I'm on my snowboard. I can't imagine my life without boarding. How has skating shaped your life? Skating is meditation for me. It helps me escape from everything. I focus on my ride and I don't think about anything else, it's magical. I’m truly in the moment. My whole life is about sports. From the moment I open my eyes to the moment I jump into my bed (completely sore ahaha). How did you get started? Skating, surfing… I have always been passionate about extreme sports. I started motocross at the age of 6 and then snowboarded during winter holidays with my parents. Then one day I found my brother’s old skateboard in the garage, and that's how I fell in love with skateboarding. For me, it was the best way to recreate the feeling of snowboarding but without the mountains – life changing! When I turned 21 and finished school, I decided to live by the beach in order to spend more time outside skating but also to work for a surf company.Surfing also became part of my life very fast. Desert Island, Jimmy Lion Edition! You can only take three, which do you choose? So there you have it! Don’t forget to check out Manon’s inspiring account!! Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen
Nuestra oficina, nuestra historia

Unser Büro, unsere Story

After our first years in New York, Jimmy Lion decided to put down roots in Madrid. The then small team quickly moved to ‘‘The Studio’’, one of two joint offices in Manuel Becerra Plaza (Plaza de Manuel Becerra). Built originally by Pedro Bigador around 1936, this building’s as historic as it is beautiful.Fun fact: The space was originally a photography studio! As beautiful as it was, we had to make it our own. We enlisted the help of designer Marta de la Rica – and she did a fantastic job.But our team kept growing! In need of more space, we moved across the breezeway to “The Office.” Even as we moved to the light and airy Office to work, we continued to create visual content in The Studio which we had outfitted to meet our creative needs.Fun Fact: Before we moved in, the industrial-esque “Office” was a printing house whose high ceilings fit the massive machinery required at the time. As fantastic as it was, we still needed to give it the distinctive flair that makes our socks so unique, so we asked Amelia Millán to take over.  She made us feel right at home with her amazing signature design. But we weren’t finished! Our team kept growing so we ended up taking over both spaces! Now part of our team works in the clay-facaded beauty, while the other half gets their creative juices flowing in our renovated creative hub. A COLORFUL PLACE TO WORK We love where we work and revel in making it our own. Inspired by our best-selling socks, we’re surrounded by pops of color. This place rocks our socks off, and we couldn’t wait to share it with you. Thanks socks much for reading! Weiterlesen
