Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! My name is Manon Lanza, also known as @allonsrider, and I split my time between Los Angeles, USA, and Biarritz, France.
I'm passionate about board sports. When I'm not surfing, I'm skateboarding, and when it gets too cold, I'm on my snowboard. I can't imagine life without board sports.
How has skateboarding shaped your life?
Skateboarding is meditation for me. It helps me escape everything.
I focus on my ride and don't think about anything else — it's pure magic. I'm truly in the moment. My entire life revolves around sports, from the moment I open my eyes until I collapse into bed (completely sore, hahaha).
How did you start? Skate, surf...
I've always been passionate about extreme sports. I started motocross at age 6 and then went snowboarding during winter holidays with my parents.
One day I found my brother's old skateboard in the garage, and that's how I fell in love with skateboarding. For me, it was the best way to recreate the feeling of snowboarding without mountains: it changed my life!
When I turned 21 and finished my studies, I decided to live by the beach to spend more time skating outdoors, and also to work for a surf company.
Surfing became part of my life very quickly too.
Desert island, Jimmy Lion edition! You can only take three, which ones do you pick?
And there you have it!
